Judy's Metabank Report to the Maine Attorney General

here is judy's report we sent to the maine attorney general on how judy got scammed and nancy kicked a guy that judy let stay with her when he was evicted out - because he might have skimmed her card

i saw him pull his bike up and get off and stand next to my friend jason by the farmer's market pavilion in van buren once and i thought 'this guy is trying to skim us!' and started taking the battery out of my phone and he took off running !

later i loaned judy copies of anchorman and anchorman 2 before the guy moved in with her and after he left she brought back 4 movies  i'd never seen before and a copy of anchorman that wouldn't play on u s region dvd players

i had mistakenly bought that copy before i was evicted from alphena's and had most of my stuff stolen so it looks pretty certain the guy stole my stuff or knew who did

Dear Maine Attorney General Aaron Frey:




My neighbor Judy Hardt has been victimized by some kind of bank / debit card  scam involving something Metabank calls a virtual debit card that she says was fraudulently billing her for purchases at a website she had never heard of leaving her with 0.99 cents in her account.


She says she tried to cancel the virtual debit card thing but the Metabank left it up and she was immediately robbed the beginning of the next month (this October) before she could get any money out of her debit card.


She says they did it two months in a row even tho she told the Metabank to close whatever the virtual debit card is after the first fraudulent purchases.


156 main street is the address of Norstate Federal Credit Union's Van Buren office Judy says she does not have an account there.


A California area code phone number was linked to her virtual debit card and Judy says she tried to get rid of that phone # and it replaced her phone # on the account even tho she tried multiple times to have it removed.


It appears to belong to a Wendy Oliveras but white pages and people search say there are many Wendy Oliveras in California.




She says the bank tried to remove it and couldn't.


She says she couldn't close her account because she couldnt afford the fee to open a new one and she was affraid if she closed the account the Metabank wouldn't return her money.


I told her about Direct Express which she didn't know about and we called them right away on my phone but she is still afraid to close the Metabank account because the Metabank says they are working to get her money back through disputed claims but it might take up to 3 months and she does not know if they will return her money if she closes the account.


Meanwhile her phone has been shut off her cable canceled she can't pay her rent etc...
